Zylam Liquid Systemic Insecticide

Zylam Liquid Systemic Insecticide is a professional insecticide containing 10% dinotefuran for control of listed chewing and sucking insects infesting outdoor landscape ornamentals. It is labeled for ornamental trees, shrubs, flowering plants, foliage plants, groundcovers, evergreens, and other labeled ornamental plants in commercial, industrial, residential, park, athletic field, and school landscapes.

Zylam is absorbed through roots and foliage and translocated upward through the plant for systemic insect control. Foliar applications also provide translaminar and locally systemic activity, while flexible soil drench, soil injection, bark banding, foliar spray, and broadcast spray application methods provide multiple options for managing difficult ornamental pests.

Features & Benefits

Provides systemic control of numerous labeled chewing and sucking insects on outdoor landscape ornamentals

Controls labeled armored and soft scale species including euonymus, elongate hemlock, Florida wax, tea, and other important scales

Targets aphids, adelgids, borers, lacebugs, leafhoppers, mealybugs, psyllids, whiteflies, and other labeled ornamental pests

Moves upward through actively growing plants following root, foliage, or bark uptake

Provides translaminar and locally systemic activity when applied as a foliar spray

Offers soil drench, soil injection, bark banding, foliar spray, and broadcast spray application options

IRAC Group 4A chemistry supports planned rotation with insecticides having different target sites of action

Labeled Use Sites

Zylam Liquid is labeled for outdoor landscape ornamental plants in commercial, industrial, and residential areas, parks, athletic fields, and schools. Labeled plants include bedding plants, shrubs, ornamentals, flowering plants, foliage plants, groundcovers, evergreens, ornamental trees, non-bearing fruit trees, non-bearing nut trees, and non-bearing vines. Bark-banding applications are labeled for landscape trees and shrubs. For outdoor use only.

Target Pests

Zylam Liquid controls or suppresses labeled adelgids, aphids, bagworms, flatheaded borers, roundheaded borers, froghoppers, fungus gnat larvae, lacebugs, leaf beetles, leafhoppers, leafminers, mealybugs, pine tip moth larvae, plant bugs, psyllids, root weevils, sawfly larvae, armored and soft scales, spittlebugs, thrips, treehoppers, whiteflies, white grubs, white pine weevil, Japanese beetle adults, and other insects listed on the product label. Control or suppression and labeled pest spectrum vary by application method.

Application Notes

Foliar applications are made at 8 to 16 fl oz per 100 gal of water using sufficient spray volume for thorough coverage, with a minimum of 1 gal of finished spray per 1,000 sq ft. Bark banding uses 16 fl oz of Zylam Liquid plus 1 fl oz of organosilicone surfactant per 1 gal of water. Soil drench and injection rates vary by shrub height or tree diameter; apply only to moist soil and maintain soil moisture for at least 7 days after application for optimum performance.

Do not exceed 39 fl oz per acre per year as foliar sprays or 78 fl oz per acre per year as soil applications or bark banding. Bark banding is limited to one application per year, and no more than three Zylam applications per growing season are allowed for resistance management. Avoid consecutive use of Zylam or other Group 4A insecticides against the same pest population. Always read and follow the complete product label.
