Choosing the Right Product

Compare blue, black, and blended dyes by desired appearance, pond volume, concentration, and application form. Consider water clarity, inflow and outflow, irrigation use, fountains, and how often fresh dye may be needed after dilution or water exchange.

Use and Application Considerations

Calculate pond volume and follow the label for dose, mixing, application, reapplication, clothing or surface staining, and water-use directions. Colorants do not replace identification and treatment of established weeds or algae when additional management is needed.
