Velista Fungicide is a professional broad-spectrum turf fungicide containing 50% penthiopyrad for control of important diseases including dollar spot, brown patch, anthracnose, summer patch, fairy ring, spring dead spot, rapid blight, and more. As a FRAC Group 7 SDHI fungicide, Velista blocks fungal respiration at mitochondrial Complex II to stop the energy production required for spore germination and fungal growth.

Penthiopyrad provides translaminar and xylem systemic movement on treated turf, helping deliver dependable residual disease protection throughout the leaf. Velista is formulated as an easy-to-mix water-dispersible granule and provides flexible preventive and curative disease-management options across golf courses, lawns, athletic fields, parks, institutional turf, and sod farms.

Labeled Use Sites

Velista is labeled for turfgrass on golf courses including greens, collars, tees, fairways, and roughs; home lawns and residential properties; business and office complexes; shopping complexes; multifamily residential properties; institutional buildings; airports; cemeteries; athletic fields; commercial and municipal lawns and landscapes; parks and recreation areas; and commercial sod farms. Velista is not labeled for commercial nurseries or greenhouses.

Target Diseases

Velista controls labeled diseases including dollar spot, brown patch, anthracnose, large patch, leaf spot, leaf and sheath spot, brown ring patch, summer patch, fairy ring, spring dead spot, rapid blight, red thread, pink patch, powdery mildew, rust, and gray snow mold. Rates and intervals vary by disease, disease pressure, turf use site, and whether the application is preventive or curative.

Application Notes

Standard Velista rates range from 0.3 to 0.7 oz per 1,000 sq ft. Use 0.3 oz per 1,000 sq ft for preventive applications under light to moderate disease pressure and 0.5 oz per 1,000 sq ft for high disease pressure or curative situations. Selected diseases including large patch, fairy ring, spring dead spot, and gray snow mold may require rates up to 0.7 oz per 1,000 sq ft according to label directions.

Do not apply more than 0.7 oz per 1,000 sq ft in a single application or more than 2.2 oz per 1,000 sq ft per year, equivalent to 6 lb product per acre annually. Do not make more than two successive applications before rotating to a fungicide with a different FRAC mode of action. Allow treated turf to dry before irrigation or entry. For fairy ring, add the recommended rate of a wetting agent according to label directions.
