TetraSan 5 WDG is a professional selective miticide and ovicide containing 5% etoxazole for long-lasting control of spider mites on greenhouse, nursery, landscape, ornamental, Christmas tree, and indoor-grown tomato crops. Its IRAC Group 10B chemistry targets mite eggs and immature stages while also providing transovarial activity that prevents treated adult mites from producing viable eggs.

TetraSan delivers strong translaminar movement through treated leaves, allowing the active ingredient to reach mites feeding on lower leaf surfaces even when direct under-leaf coverage is difficult. With residual activity lasting up to five weeks and minimal impact on most beneficial organisms, TetraSan is an excellent component of integrated pest management and resistance-management programs.

Labeled Use Sites

TetraSan 5 WDG is labeled for indoor and outdoor ornamentals including bedding plants, flowering plants, foliage plants, groundcovers, shrubs, ornamental trees, non-bearing fruit and nut trees, greenhouses, lathhouses, shadehouses, interiorscapes, field-grown and container nurseries, residential and commercial landscapes, and Christmas trees. It is also labeled for spider mite control on indoor-grown tomatoes.

Target Pests

TetraSan controls labeled spider mites including citrus red mite, European red mite, Lewis spider mite, Pacific spider mite, southern red mite, spruce spider mite, and two-spotted spider mite on ornamentals and indoor-grown tomatoes. Christmas tree uses additionally include McDaniel spider mite. TetraSan is primarily an ovicide and larvicide; it does not directly control adult mites.

Application Notes

For ornamental plants, apply 8 to 16 oz per 100 gallons of water, equivalent to four to eight 2 oz water-soluble packets, or 16 to 32 oz per acre. Apply as a foliar spray with sufficient water to provide uniform coverage. Treat at the first sign of infestation and before large populations of adult mites develop. If a second application is necessary, wait at least 14 days.

Use the higher labeled rates for moderate to heavy infestations and dense plant canopies. If rapid adult mite control in less than seven days is needed, combine TetraSan with a compatible labeled contact adulticide. Do not make more than two applications per cropping cycle or within a six-month period on ornamentals. Christmas trees are limited to one application per growing season. Do not apply through irrigation or chemigation systems.
