Tent Insecticide CS – Dual-Action Structural, Turf & Ornamental Insecticide

Tent Insecticide CS is a professional broad-spectrum insecticide that combines 11.6% thiamethoxam with 3.5% microencapsulated lambda-cyhalothrin for contact and systemic insect control. Its two active ingredients provide complementary IRAC Group 4A and Group 3A modes of action for controlling a wide range of structural, perimeter, turf, and ornamental pests.

Generic for Tandem Insecticide, Tent Insecticide CS is labeled for indoor and outdoor use in and around buildings and structures, including permitted applications in food-handling establishments. It may also be used on non-residential lawns, turfgrass, ornamental trees, shrubs, and landscape vegetation around institutional, commercial, public, and industrial properties.

Features & Benefits

Two complementary active ingredients: Combines systemic thiamethoxam with microencapsulated lambda-cyhalothrin for broad-spectrum contact and systemic insect control.

Dual modes of action: IRAC Groups 4A and 3A provide two distinct insecticidal modes of action in one convenient formulation.

Microencapsulated pyrethroid formulation: Lambda-cyhalothrin is microencapsulated in a capsule-suspension formulation designed for dependable residual pest control.

Broad structural pest spectrum: Controls ants, cockroaches, bed bugs, fleas, ticks, mosquitoes, flies, spiders, scorpions, wasps, stored-product pests, occasional invaders, and numerous other labeled insects.

Enhanced ant-management value: Systemic thiamethoxam controls aphids, mealybugs, whiteflies, and other plant-feeding insects that produce honeydew used as a food source by pest ants.

Indoor and outdoor flexibility: Suitable for labeled spot, crack-and-crevice, void, perimeter, turfgrass, ornamental, soil, and foliar applications.

Food-handling establishment uses: May be used in permitted food and non-food areas as a spot, crack-and-crevice, or void treatment when applied according to label restrictions.

Turf and ornamental performance: Controls surface-feeding, thatch-inhabiting, root-feeding, and plant-feeding pests in labeled non-residential landscapes.

Wood-destroying insect control: Labeled for localized control of carpenter ants, carpenter bees, drywood termites, wood-destroying beetles, and borers.

Labeled Use Sites

Tent Insecticide CS is labeled for use in, on, and around buildings, structures, transportation equipment, non-residential turfgrass, and ornamental landscapes. Permitted sites include:

Commercial and industrial buildings, offices, warehouses, schools, hotels, motels, hospitals, laboratories, restaurants, food-processing and food-serving establishments, factories, stores, storage rooms, garages, pet kennels, correctional facilities, locker rooms, utility passages, railcars, buses, trucks, trailers, vessels, cargo areas of aircraft, dumpsters, garbage rooms, porches, ornamental landscapes, trees, shrubs, mulch, parks, recreational areas, athletic fields, and turf around non-residential, institutional, public, commercial, and industrial buildings.

Use in food-handling establishments is restricted to label-approved spot, crack-and-crevice, or void treatments that prevent exposure to food, food-contact surfaces, and occupants.

Turf Pests:

Application Notes

Shake Before Use:
Shake the container thoroughly before mixing or applying Tent Insecticide CS.

General Structural Dilution:
Mix 0.55–1.1 fluid ounces per gallon of water to produce a 0.065%–0.13% dilution. Use the lower rate for light pest pressure or maintenance treatments and the higher rate for heavy infestations, difficult pests, or when longer residual activity is desired.

Higher-Rate Structural Pests:
For bed bugs, outdoor fleas, scorpions, wasps, hornets, yellow jackets, and certain other label-listed pests, use 1.1 fluid ounces per gallon of water.

Structural Application Methods:
Apply as a coarse spray, spot treatment, crack-and-crevice treatment, void treatment, perimeter treatment, surface application, foam, mist, or through an approved fixed in-wall delivery system as directed by the label.

Indoor Retreatment:
For indoor applications, retreat at 21-day intervals or as necessary to maintain control, except where the label provides different pest-specific intervals.

Non-Residential Turf Rate:
Make one application of 0.6 fluid ounce per 1,000 square feet, equivalent to 28 fluid ounces per acre, or make two applications of 0.3 fluid ounce per 1,000 square feet at 3- to 5-week intervals.

Chiggers and Grasshoppers:
Make three applications of 0.2 fluid ounce per 1,000 square feet at 3- to 5-week intervals.

Turf Spray Volume:
Apply in 2–10 gallons of water per 1,000 square feet to distribute the product uniformly through the turf canopy and thatch.

White Grub Applications:
Begin treatments up to 45 days before the historical peak of adult flight through the second-instar grub stage. For optimum control, apply from peak adult flight through peak egg hatch and irrigate sufficiently to move the active ingredient into the root zone.

Surface-Feeding Turf Insects:
For pests such as armyworms, cutworms, and fleas, apply in 2–5 gallons of water per 1,000 square feet. Delay irrigation or mowing for 12–24 hours after application for optimum control.

Thatch-Inhabiting Turf Insects:
For pests such as chinch bugs, apply in 2–10 gallons of water per 1,000 square feet. A nonionic wetting agent, penetrant, or similar adjuvant is recommended. Irrigate with up to 1/2 inch of water after application to move the product into the thatch layer.

Ornamental Foliar Rate:
Apply 4.2–13.9 fluid ounces per 100 gallons of water for most labeled ornamental pests. Use 8.5–13.9 fluid ounces per 100 gallons for broad mites, certain scales, clover mites, mealybugs, and whiteflies.

Ornamental Soil Application:
For non-bearing fruit and nut trees, ornamental trees, and woody shrubs, apply 0.2 fluid ounce per inch of cumulative trunk diameter or per foot of shrub height for shrubs under 6 feet tall. Water the treatment into the root zone after application.

Tank Mixing:
Tent Insecticide CS may be tank-mixed with other registered pesticides unless prohibited by the accompanying label. Conduct a small compatibility test before preparing a full tank. When other chemicals are included, add Tent Insecticide CS last and maintain agitation.

Important Use Restrictions:
Do not use with oil. Do not apply to edible crops, commercial sod production, plants grown for sale, pasture, or cropland. Do not apply through irrigation equipment or by air. Do not apply while bees are foraging, to flowering plants, or until all flower petals have fallen. Do not apply by any method to linden, basswood, or other Tilia species.

Annual Maximum:
Do not apply more than 32 fluid ounces per acre per calendar year to non-residential turfgrass or ornamentals.
