Sepoy Insecticide/Miticide

Sepoy Insecticide/Miticide is a professional insecticide and miticide powered by spiromesifen for control of labeled mites, whiteflies, and psyllids in field crops, vegetable crops, and low-growing berries. As an IRAC Group 23 lipid biosynthesis inhibitor, Sepoy offers a unique mode of action for resistance-management and IPM programs.

Sepoy is active by contact on all mite development stages, with juvenile mite stages often more susceptible than adults. It is also highly effective against whitefly nymphs and provides activity on the otherwise difficult-to-control pupal stage. For best results, apply Sepoy when mite or whitefly populations begin to build and before damaging populations become established.

Labeled Use Sites

Sepoy is labeled for use on field corn, popcorn, sweet corn, cotton, cucurbit vegetables, fruiting vegetables except cucurbits, leafy greens vegetables, brassica leafy vegetables, tuberous and corm vegetables, and low-growing berries. Labeled crop examples include corn, cotton, cucumber, melon, pumpkin, squash, watermelon, eggplant, pepper, tomatillo, tomato, lettuce, spinach, broccoli, Brussels sprouts, cabbage, cauliflower, kale, mustard greens, potato, sweet potato, cranberry, lowbush blueberry, strawberry, and other listed crops within the labeled crop groups.

Target Pests

Sepoy is labeled for control of mites, whiteflies, and psyllids, including banks grass mite, two-spotted spider mite, carmine spider mite, desert spider mite, Pacific spider mite, strawberry spider mite, broad mite, tomato russet mite, potato/tomato psyllid, and whiteflies including silverleaf whitefly, sweet potato whitefly, and greenhouse whitefly.

Application Notes

Apply Sepoy according to the crop-specific directions on the product label. Timing should be based on careful scouting and local thresholds. Complete coverage of the foliage is necessary for optimal control, and the label notes that an adjuvant may be used to improve coverage and control where permitted.

For best results, apply when whitefly or mite populations begin to build and before a damaging population becomes established. Sepoy is effective against egg and nymphal stages of whiteflies and mites; it will not knock down adult whitefly populations. Evaluate performance no sooner than 4 to 10 days after application. Follow all crop-specific rates, PHI, application intervals, annual maximums, REI requirements, application-volume requirements, chemigation instructions, and spray-drift restrictions.
