Rimsulfuron 25 DF Herbicide

Quali-Pro Rimsulfuron 25 DF is a professional selective herbicide containing 25% rimsulfuron for control of annual bluegrass (Poa annua), perennial ryegrass, rough bluegrass (Poa trivialis), and other difficult weeds in labeled warm-season turf and non-crop vegetation-management sites. Its Group 2 sulfonylurea chemistry inhibits branched-chain amino acid synthesis and is absorbed through both roots and foliage, rapidly stopping the growth of susceptible weeds.

A generic alternative to TranXit® Herbicide, Rimsulfuron 25 DF is especially valuable for spring transition and fall overseeding programs in bermudagrass. It can accelerate removal of perennial ryegrass and Poa trivialis during spring transition, control annual bluegrass before fall overseeding, and provide selective weed management in bermudagrass, centipedegrass, zoysiagrass, golf courses, sod farms, professional sports turf, industrial sites, roadsides, and utility areas.

Features & Benefits

✓ Contains 25% rimsulfuron with professional Group 2 ALS-inhibiting herbicide activity

✓ Provides exceptional control of annual bluegrass, perennial ryegrass, and rough bluegrass in labeled warm-season turf

✓ Enhances rapid and complete spring transition from overseeded ryegrass back to bermudagrass

✓ Controls annual bluegrass infestations before fall overseeding of bermudagrass

✓ Root and foliar absorption rapidly stops growth of susceptible weeds

✓ Provides both postemergence activity and labeled residual preemergence weed control in non-crop programs

✓ Generic alternative to TranXit® with flexible low-use-rate programs for professional turf management

Labeled Use Sites

Warm-season turf uses include bermudagrass on golf courses, sod farms, seed farms, professionally managed college and professional sports fields, industrial and commercial turf, and similar non-residential sites. Specific programs are labeled for both putting-green and non-putting-green bermudagrass. Weed-control uses are also labeled in centipedegrass and zoysiagrass, with limited low-rate use on bentgrass fairways according to label directions.

Non-crop vegetation-management sites include roadsides, highway medians, industrial plant sites, and utility substations. Rimsulfuron 25 DF is not labeled for residential lawns. State-specific restrictions apply, including restrictions on certain California, New York, and Arizona uses.

Target Weeds

Warm-Season Turf Targets: annual bluegrass (Poa annua), perennial ryegrass, ryegrass species, rough bluegrass (Poa trivialis), little barley, blue-eyed grass, tall fescue, common chickweed, shepherdspurse, henbit, cutleaf evening primrose, field pansy, wild carrot, spotted spurge, dollarweed, and certain sedges for suppression.

Spring Transition: perennial ryegrass and Poa trivialis in overseeded bermudagrass. Perennial ryegrass is generally more sensitive to Rimsulfuron 25 DF than Poa trivialis, and sequential lower-rate applications may provide better removal than a single high-rate treatment.

Fall Overseeding: annual bluegrass in bermudagrass before overseeding with perennial ryegrass or Poa trivialis.

Non-Crop Preemergence Targets: barnyardgrass, large crabgrass, giant foxtail, green foxtail, yellow foxtail, redstem filaree, hairy fleabane, common mallow, marestail or horseweed, black mustard, redroot pigweed, smooth pigweed, and puncturevine.

Application Notes

For spring removal of perennial ryegrass and Poa trivialis from non-putting-green bermudagrass, apply 0.5 to 2 oz per acre approximately 3 to 4 weeks before the desired transition date with a nonionic surfactant at 0.25% v/v. Putting-green bermudagrass programs use 0.5 to 1 oz per acre approximately 3 weeks before the desired transition, also with a 0.25% v/v nonionic surfactant.

For annual bluegrass control before fall overseeding, non-putting-green bermudagrass uses 1 to 2 oz per acre 10 to 14 days before overseeding with a nonionic surfactant at 0.25% v/v. The labeled putting-green program uses 2 oz per acre 10 to 14 days before overseeding without an adjuvant. For postemergence uses, Rimsulfuron 25 DF is rainfast in approximately 4 hours. Maintain spray-solution pH between 5 and 7 for best stability and do not use solutions or additives that lower pH below 4 or raise it above 8.
