Race Herbicide
Race Herbicide is a fast-acting broadleaf burndown and harvest aid herbicide powered by saflufenacil for use in selected agricultural crops, fallow and postharvest cropland, pasture and rangeland, forage grasses, grass seed production, and noncropland areas. As a Group 14 PPO inhibitor, Race delivers rapid contact activity on tough broadleaf weeds and can also provide rate-dependent residual preemergence broadleaf weed control.
Race is a strong fit for burndown programs where weeds like marestail, kochia, waterhemp, Palmer amaranth, lambsquarters, morningglory, pigweed, ragweed, and velvetleaf need to be controlled before planting or crop emergence. It may also be used as a harvest aid/desiccant in labeled crops including soybeans, cotton, canola, dry edible beans, dry peas, barley, wheat, triticale, chia, and sunflower. Race Herbicide is the generic equivalent of Sharpen Herbicide.
Features & Benefits

Labeled Use Sites
Race Herbicide is labeled for use in selected agricultural crops including alfalfa, chickpea, corn, cotton, edible bean, edible pea, field pea, forage grasses, grass grown for seed, lentils, rice, small grains, sorghum, southern pea, soybean, and vegetable soybean. It is also labeled for fallow and postharvest cropland, pasture and rangeland, noncropland areas, and harvest aid/desiccation uses in selected crops including barley, wheat, triticale, chia, dry edible beans, dry peas, canola and other oilseeds, cotton, sunflower, and soybean.
Target Weeds

Application Notes
Apply Race Herbicide according to the crop-specific directions on the product label. For burndown applications, apply when broadleaf weeds are small and actively growing. Thorough spray coverage is required for best control, especially on dense weed populations or fall-germinated weeds such as marestail.
An adjuvant system is required for optimum burndown activity. The label specifies methylated seed oil plus ammonium sulfate or urea ammonium nitrate for many burndown uses, with crop-specific exceptions. Do not substitute nonionic surfactant for methylated seed oil where the label requires MSO. Race does not control grass weeds, so it must be tank mixed or applied sequentially with a grass herbicide when grass control is needed.
