PS Clethodim Herbicide

PS Clethodim Herbicide is a selective post-emergent grass herbicide powered by clethodim for control of annual and perennial grasses in labeled crops, non-crop areas, non-planted areas, conifers, ornamentals, and non-bearing food crops. As a Group 1 herbicide, PS Clethodim is an important tool for controlling grassy weeds in broadleaf crops and other labeled use sites.

PS Clethodim controls actively growing grasses while leaving many labeled broadleaf crops and non-grassy ornamentals unaffected when used according to label directions. It is especially useful for controlling volunteer corn, including Roundup Ready® volunteer corn in soybean fields, along with difficult annual and perennial grasses such as Johnsongrass, quackgrass, Bermudagrass, tall fescue, wild oats, volunteer cereals, and other labeled grasses.

Labeled Use Sites

PS Clethodim is labeled for use on many agricultural crops and use sites, including alfalfa, artichoke, asparagus, beans and peas, brassica vegetables, bushberries, caneberries, canola, carrots, clover grown in Idaho, Oregon, and Washington, conifers, cotton, cranberry, cucurbits, fallow land, flax, field corn burndown, garlic, herbs, hops, leafy greens, mint, mustard seed, non-bearing food crops, non-crop or non-planted areas, onions, ornamentals, peaches, peanuts, peppers, potatoes, safflower, sesame, shallots, soybeans, squash, strawberries, sugar beets, sunflowers, sweet potatoes, tomatoes, and other labeled crops.

Target Weeds

PS Clethodim is labeled for control of annual and perennial grasses, including volunteer corn, volunteer cereals, wild oats, wild proso millet, witchgrass, woolly cupgrass, Texas panicum, sprangletop, annual bluegrass, Bermudagrass, Johnsongrass, quackgrass, wirestem muhly, tall fescue, foxtail barley, orchardgrass, and other labeled grass weeds. PS Clethodim does not control sedges or broadleaf weeds.

Application Notes

Apply PS Clethodim post-emergence to actively growing grasses according to the crop-specific directions and grass growth stage tables on the product label. Applications made to grasses stressed by drought, excessive moisture, hot or cold temperatures, or previous herbicide injury may result in reduced control. Do not apply if rainfall is expected within one hour of application.

Use rates vary by crop, grass species, growth stage, and application method. Many labeled agricultural uses require PS Clethodim to be applied with a crop oil concentrate, while non-bearing food crops and ornamental plants require a non-ionic surfactant containing at least 80% active ingredient. Always follow the crop-specific adjuvant instructions on the label.

Do not allow PS Clethodim to contact desirable grass crops such as corn, rice, sorghum, small grains, or turf, as these and other grass crops may be injured or killed. Tank mixes with post-emergent broadleaf herbicides may reduce grass control, and a follow-up application of PS Clethodim may be needed if grass regrowth occurs.
