Pradia Insecticide

Pradia Insecticide is a professional foliar insecticide containing 4.46% cyclaniliprole and 5.96% flonicamid for broad-spectrum control of labeled insect pests on ornamentals, conifers, Christmas trees, and non-bearing fruit, nut, and vine crops grown in commercial greenhouses, shadehouses, and nurseries. Its dual-active formulation targets both chewing and sucking pests including aphids, whiteflies, thrips, caterpillars, beetles, leafminers, mealybugs, psyllids, scales, and other labeled insects.

Pradia combines IRAC Group 28 cyclaniliprole, a ryanodine receptor modulator, with IRAC Group 29 flonicamid, a selective feeding blocker that causes rapid and irreversible feeding cessation. This two-group mode-of-action combination makes Pradia well suited to scheduled protective programs, resistance-management rotations, and Integrated Pest Management programs in professional greenhouse and nursery production.

Labeled Use Sites

Pradia is labeled for ornamentals, conifers, Christmas trees, and non-bearing fruit, nut, and vine crops grown in commercial greenhouses, shadehouses, and nurseries. It may be used on container-grown and field-grown ornamental plants, including conifers, in greenhouses and outdoor nurseries. Pradia is not labeled for residential use.

Target Pests

Pradia controls labeled adelgids, aphids, beetle and caterpillar borers, foliage-feeding beetles including Japanese beetles, flea beetles and leaf beetles, foliage-feeding caterpillars including armyworms, loopers, webworms, leafrollers and related pests, lace bugs, leafminers, mealybugs, midges, plant bugs, psyllids including Asian citrus psyllid, adult root weevils, sawflies, soft scales, foliage-feeding thrips, and whiteflies. Stink bug nymphs are labeled for suppression only and should be managed as part of an effective IPM program.

Application Notes

Apply Pradia as a foliar spray at 10 to 17.5 fl oz per 100 gal or 10 to 17.5 fl oz per acre in sufficient spray volume to thoroughly wet foliage, generally not exceeding 100 gal per acre. Begin applications when pests first appear or when economic thresholds are reached. Use the higher labeled rates for best results and maximum residual control unless otherwise directed, and observe a minimum 7-day interval between treatments.

Do not apply more than 61 fl oz per acre per year; in New York, do not exceed 54 fl oz per acre per year. Do not apply Pradia or other Group 28 or Group 29 insecticides more than three times within a single pest generation, and rotate the next generation to a different mode of action. The restricted-entry interval is 12 hours. Outdoor ornamental applications during bloom are restricted to the label-specified rate and evening timing to reduce bee exposure. Always read and follow the complete product label.
