Minx 2 is a professional insecticide and miticide containing 2.0% abamectin for broad-spectrum control of mites and leafminers and suppression of aphids, thrips, and whiteflies on ornamental plants. Its low-VOC, water-based microemulsion formulation provides flexible application, excellent plant safety, and reliable performance across greenhouse, nursery, landscape, Christmas tree, and ornamental-production programs.

Powered by IRAC Group 6 avermectin chemistry, Minx 2 controls important mite pests including two-spotted spider mites, European red mites, spruce spider mites, broad mites, cyclamen mites, rust mites, and bud mites. It also controls Liriomyza and boxwood leafminers while fitting naturally into professional resistance-management programs alongside miticides with different modes of action.

Labeled Use Sites

Minx 2 is labeled for shadehouse, greenhouse, and field-grown ornamentals, foliage plants, Christmas trees, landscape plants, and other woody ornamental plants. Nufarm also positions Minx 2 for residential and commercial landscape ornamentals, field-grown nurseries, container-grown nurseries, and greenhouse production. Do not use Minx 2 in citrus nurseries.

Target Pests

Minx 2 controls European red mite, carmine spider mite, eriophyid mites including rust and bud mites, southern red mite, spruce spider mite, tarsonemid mites including cyclamen and broad mites, and two-spotted spider mite. It also controls Liriomyza leafminers and boxwood leafminer.

Aphids, thrips, and whiteflies are labeled for suppression of immature stages and require direct spray contact. Minx 2 should not be repeatedly used to suppress aphids, thrips, or whiteflies on roses, chrysanthemums, or gerbera because those crops are primary hosts of mites and Liriomyza leafminers and excessive use may increase resistance pressure on those key pests.

Application Notes

For labeled mite control, apply Minx 2 at 4 fl oz per 100 gallons of water when mites first appear and repeat as needed. For Liriomyza leafminers, use 8 fl oz per 100 gallons and repeat at 7-day intervals or as necessary to maintain control. Boxwood leafminer treatments should be timed when adults begin laying eggs in new foliage.

For suppression of aphids, thrips, and whiteflies, use the labeled 8 fl oz per 100 gallons and repeat at 7-day intervals for up to three weeks, then rotate to insecticides with different modes of action for two to three weeks. Thorough foliar coverage is essential. Horticultural spray oil at 0.5% to 1.0% of spray volume may prolong control on field-grown woody ornamentals, landscape plants, and Christmas trees when plant safety and label directions permit.
