Jewel 75 SG Systemic Insecticide
Jewel 75 SG Systemic Insecticide is a professional agricultural insecticide containing 75% thiamethoxam for control of labeled sucking, chewing, soil-dwelling, and foliar insect pests. Jewel is a generic equivalent to Platinum 75 SG, providing the same thiamethoxam active ingredient concentration in a highly concentrated soluble granule formulation for use across a broad range of labeled specialty crops.
As an IRAC Group 4A neonicotinoid, Jewel acts as a nicotinic acetylcholine receptor competitive modulator and is designed for systemic uptake through plant roots. Flexible soil and root-zone application methods include in-furrow treatments, soil banding, transplant drenches, shanked root-zone applications, and drip or micro-irrigation chemigation where permitted by the label.

Labeled Use Sites
Jewel 75 SG is labeled for bushberries, low-growing berries, small fruit vine crops, brassica and cole leafy vegetables, citrus fruit, cucurbit vegetables, fruiting vegetables, hops, leafy vegetables, root vegetables, tobacco, and tuberous and corm vegetables. Specific labeled crops include blueberries, strawberries, grapes, broccoli, cabbage, cauliflower, citrus, cucumbers, melons, squash, tomatoes, peppers, lettuce, spinach, carrots, radishes, potatoes, sweet potatoes, and numerous other crops listed on the label. Do not use in nurseries, greenhouses, plant propagation houses, or on plants grown for transplant except for the specifically labeled tobacco transplant uses.
Target Pests
Jewel controls or suppresses numerous labeled pests including aphids, armored scales, soft scales, Asian citrus psyllid, citrus black fly, citrus leafminer, Colorado potato beetle, cucumber beetles, Diaprepes root weevil larvae and adults, flea beetles, grubs, Japanese beetles, leafhoppers, leafminers, mealybugs, phylloxera, potato psyllid, root weevils, sharpshooters, strawberry root weevil, thrips, tomato pinworm, whiteflies, wireworms, garden symphylans, mole crickets, and other crop-specific pests listed on the product label. Certain pests are labeled for suppression rather than control depending on crop and application method.
Application Notes
Jewel is primarily applied to the soil or root zone so thiamethoxam can be absorbed by plant roots. Depending on the crop, labeled application methods include in-furrow spray, surface banding, post-seeding or transplant drench, hill drench, shanked root-zone application, plant-hole treatment, trickle or drip irrigation, micro-sprinkler chemigation, and certain fertilizer-impregnation applications on potatoes. Use sufficient water to place the active ingredient into the root zone for optimum uptake and performance.
Application rates and preharvest intervals vary by crop. Many vegetable uses range from approximately 1.66 to 3.67 oz per acre, citrus uses 1.83 to 3.67 oz per acre depending on target pest, and labeled climbing vine uses may reach 5.67 oz per acre. Follow the crop-specific annual thiamethoxam limit and resistance-management directions. The agricultural restricted-entry interval is 12 hours. Jewel is highly toxic to bees and other pollinators, so all pollinator-protection restrictions on the label must be followed. Always read and follow the complete product label.
