FZP 2EC Selective Postemergence Herbicide
FZP 2EC is a professional selective postemergence herbicide containing 24.5% fluazifop-P-butyl for systemic control of labeled annual and perennial grassy weeds in turf, landscapes, ornamentals, nurseries, greenhouses, roadsides, non-crop areas, and other labeled sites. Its Group 1 ACCase-inhibiting chemistry moves from treated foliage into shoots, roots, rhizomes, stolons, and growing points to provide thorough control of susceptible grasses.
Comparable to Fusilade® II and Ornamec®, FZP 2EC is especially useful for selective bermudagrass suppression and control in labeled zoysiagrass, tall fescue, and fine fescue programs, as well as grass control around many labeled ornamental trees, shrubs, flowers, and groundcovers. Treated grasses stop growing soon after application, with visible symptoms generally developing within 7 to 14 days and complete control typically occurring within 10 to 21 days.

Labeled Use Sites
FZP 2EC is labeled for use in landscape areas, residential and commercial landscapes, public and industrial sites, roadsides, rights-of-way, utility easements and structures, parks, sports fields, golf courses, commercial sod farms, cemeteries, airports, storage yards, fence lines, parkways, tree farms, Christmas trees, flower beds, groundcovers, interiorscapes, nurseries, commercial greenhouses where permitted, and other labeled ornamental and non-crop areas.
Ornamental uses include many specifically listed trees, shrubs, flowers, groundcovers, palms, conifers, and foliage plants. Some ornamentals may receive over-the-top applications, while others require directed applications because foliar contact can cause phytotoxicity. Always refer to the ornamental tolerance tables before treating a specific species or cultivar.
Target Weeds
Annual & Perennial Grasses: barnyardgrass, bermudagrass, broadleaf signalgrass, large crabgrass, smooth crabgrass, southern crabgrass, tropical crabgrass, downy brome, fall panicum, field sandbur, giant foxtail, green foxtail, yellow foxtail, goosegrass, seedling guineagrass, Italian ryegrass, itchgrass, rhizome Johnsongrass, seedling Johnsongrass, junglerice, kikuyugrass where permitted, prairie cupgrass, quackgrass, rabbitsfootgrass, red rice, shattercane, sorghum almum, southern sandbur, southwestern cupgrass, Texas panicum, torpedograss, volunteer barley, volunteer corn, volunteer milo, volunteer oats, volunteer rye, volunteer wheat, wild proso millet, wild oats, wirestem muhly, witchgrass, and woolly cupgrass.
Turf Bermudagrass Programs: FZP 2EC is labeled for suppression and/or control of common bermudagrass, hybrid bermudagrass, and other labeled grassy weeds in zoysiagrass, fine fescue, and tall fescue. Complete bermudagrass control may require multiple sequential applications over one to two growing seasons.
FZP 2EC controls grassy weeds only. It does not control broadleaf weeds or sedges such as nutsedge.
Application Notes
For general landscape and ornamental grass control, apply 16 to 24 fl oz per acre, approximately 0.4 to 0.6 fl oz per 1,000 sq ft, with a high-quality nonionic surfactant. For ground applications, always add a nonionic surfactant containing at least 75% surface-active agent at 0.25% to 0.5% v/v. On ornamentals, use only a nonionic surfactant and do not use crop oil concentrate.
For selective bermudagrass and grassy-weed management in zoysiagrass, fine fescue, and tall fescue, rates and timing vary by turf species. General turf programs use 3 to 6 fl oz per acre with 0.25% v/v nonionic surfactant at approximately 28-day intervals. Tall fescue applications are made in spring and fall and should be avoided during the hot summer months. Apply to actively growing weeds, avoid stressed turf and weeds, and allow at least one hour without rainfall or irrigation after application.
