Far Reach Herbicide

Far Reach Herbicide is a professional selective herbicide containing fluroxypyr and clopyralid for postemergence control or suppression of annual and perennial broadleaf weeds in wheat, barley, oats, field corn, grasses grown for seed, Conservation Reserve Program acreage, and labeled non-cropland sites. Far Reach is a generic equivalent to WideMatch Herbicide and provides dual Group 4 synthetic auxin chemistry for dependable broadleaf weed control in agricultural and vegetation-management programs.

Far Reach is especially useful for difficult weeds including kochia, Canada thistle, marestail, volunteer potatoes, ragweed, clovers, dandelion, nightshades, cocklebur, and other labeled broadleaf weeds. It is rainfast within 6 hours and can provide season-long suppression of perennial weed regrowth when applied at the proper timing and labeled rates.

Features & Benefits

Dual-active selective herbicide containing fluroxypyr and clopyralid for broad-spectrum broadleaf weed control

Generic equivalent to WideMatch Herbicide for professional small-grain, corn, grass-seed, CRP, and noncrop programs

Controls or suppresses difficult weeds including kochia, Canada thistle, marestail, ragweed, volunteer potatoes, clovers, and dandelion

Group 4 synthetic auxin chemistry provides a valuable mode of action for resistance-management rotations

Rainfast within 6 hours after application when applied according to label directions

Provides season-long suppression of perennial weed regrowth when used at labeled rates and proper growth stages

Flexible use across cereal crops, field corn, grass-seed production, CRP acreage, fencerows, farm sites, and other labeled non-cropland

Labeled Use Sites

Far Reach is labeled for barley and oats not under-seeded with a legume, field corn, wheat including durum, grasses grown for seed, Conservation Reserve Program acreage established to permanent grasses, and non-cropland. Non-crop uses include fencerows, farm building sites, equipment pathways, and other labeled areas where selective control of annual and perennial broadleaf weeds is needed. Do not apply to newly seeded grass areas until the grass is well established, and do not use on CRP or non-cropland containing desirable legumes or other sensitive broadleaf plants unless injury can be tolerated.

Target Weeds

Far Reach controls or suppresses labeled volunteer alfalfa, field bindweed, burdock, volunteer canola, chickweed, black medic, hop clover, red clover, sweet clover, white clover, common cocklebur, dandelion, curly dock, volunteer flax, horseweed or marestail, kochia including resistant biotypes, volunteer lentils, prickly lettuce, nightshades, volunteer peas, volunteer potatoes, common and giant ragweed, red sorrel, sowthistle, yellow starthistle, sunflower, bull thistle, Canada thistle, musk thistle, velvetleaf, vetch, wormwood, and numerous other broadleaf weeds listed on the label. Control or suppression varies by weed species, growth stage, application rate, and growing conditions.

Application Notes

For wheat, barley, and oats, apply 1.0 to 1.33 pt per acre depending on weed size and species. Apply to actively growing crops from the 3-leaf stage through flag leaf emergence and treat weeds while small and actively growing. Grasses grown for seed generally use 1.0 to 1.33 pt per acre. Field corn is generally treated at 1.33 pt per acre, with broadcast applications made through the V5 growth stage and directed applications required after that point as specified on the label.

For CRP acreage and non-cropland, apply 1.33 to 2.66 pt per acre to actively growing broadleaf weeds. Best activity occurs when plants are actively growing at approximately 55°F to 75°F. Performance may be reduced by drought, frost, extreme temperatures, or wet foliage. Far Reach is rainfast within 6 hours. The product typically does not require an adjuvant, although an adjuvant may improve activity at lower rates, low carrier volumes, under environmental stress, or on small succulent kochia. Always read and follow the complete product label.
