Esplanade 200 SC Herbicide
Esplanade 200 SC Herbicide is a professional selective preemergence herbicide containing 19.05% indaziflam for long-term management of annual grasses and broadleaf weeds in non-crop and industrial vegetation-management sites. Labeled uses include railroads, roadsides, utilities, industrial areas, airports, petroleum facilities, gravel and hardscape areas, unimproved warm-season turf, conifer and hardwood production areas, and field-grown Christmas trees.
As an HRAC Group 29 cellulose biosynthesis inhibitor, Esplanade 200 SC reduces weed seedling emergence before troublesome weeds become established. Its residual preemergence activity makes it particularly useful in bareground and low-maintenance vegetation programs, while its unique mode of action provides another tool for managing weed populations resistant to several commonly used herbicide groups.
Features & Benefits
✓ Provides residual preemergence control of a broad spectrum of annual grasses and broadleaf weeds
✓ Controls difficult weeds including kochia, horseweed, crabgrass, goosegrass, annual bluegrass, Italian ryegrass, and Russian thistle
✓ Supports bareground vegetation-management programs in industrial, utility, roadside, railroad, and similar non-crop sites
✓ Uses HRAC Group 29 cellulose biosynthesis inhibition for resistance-management diversity
✓ May be tank mixed with appropriate postemergence herbicides when existing weeds are present
✓ Supports release of established bermudagrass, centipedegrass, bahiagrass, buffalograss, and zoysiagrass in unimproved turf areas
✓ Also labeled for conifer and hardwood production areas and field-grown Christmas trees
Labeled Use Sites
Esplanade 200 SC is labeled for railroads and rail yards, managed roadsides, hardscapes, industrial areas, airports, government and military installations, municipal sites, petroleum tank farms, pipelines, power plants, wind farms, solar farms, communication towers, pumping stations, storage areas, grain and livestock facilities, rail and utility rights-of-way, utility substations, lumberyards, farmstead areas, non-irrigation ditch banks, fence rows, manufacturing sites, office buildings, parks, educational facilities, parking lots, gravel and stone yards, unimproved warm-season turf, conifer and hardwood production areas, and field-grown Christmas trees. Hardscape applications to patios, paved parking lots, and walkways are limited to spot treatment.
Target Weeds
Esplanade 200 SC controls numerous labeled broadleaf weeds, grasses, and sedges including annual bluegrass, annual bromegrass, barnyardgrass, cheatgrass, crabgrass, downy brome, foxtails, goosegrass, Italian ryegrass, perennial ryegrass, annual sedges, horseweed or marestail, kochia, henbit, common lambsquarters, prostrate and redroot pigweed, prostrate spurge, common purslane, Russian thistle, ragweed, puncturevine, white clover, wild mustard, and yellow starthistle. The label lists suppression rather than control for certain weeds including black medic, purple nutsedge, yellow nutsedge, prickly lettuce, wild carrot, and woodsorrel or oxalis.
Application Notes
Apply Esplanade 200 SC before weed seed germination. Most labeled non-crop uses are treated at 3.5 to 7 fl oz per acre, while unimproved warm-season turf release is labeled at 3.5 to 5 fl oz per acre and field-grown Christmas trees at 3 to 6 fl oz per acre. For maximum activity against germinating weeds, Esplanade requires approximately 0.25 to 0.5 inch of rainfall or equivalent moisture within several weeks after application. It has minimal postemergence activity and generally will not control weeds that have already emerged.
Do not exceed 7 fl oz per acre in a single application. On non-grazed sites, do not exceed 10 fl oz per acre per year; grazed sites are limited to 7 fl oz per acre per year. Do not make more than two applications per year and allow at least 60 days between applications. Do not use on newly seeded turf, residential or commercial lawns, athletic fields, golf courses, sod farms, nurseries, greenhouse production sites, production or landscape ornamentals, or container-grown trees. Always read and follow the current product label.
