Electicide SC Miticide
Electicide SC Miticide is a professional agricultural miticide containing 43.2% bifenazate for fast contact knockdown and long residual control of spider mites and other labeled mite species. Electicide is a generic equivalent to Vigilant 4 SC and is labeled across a wide range of agricultural crops including almonds, walnuts, strawberries, grapes, berries, fruiting vegetables, tree nuts, pome fruit, stone fruit, cucurbits, potatoes, cotton, and other labeled crops.
As an IRAC Group 20D acaricide, Electicide inhibits mitochondrial complex III electron transport, preventing cells from efficiently utilizing energy. It is primarily active on motile mite stages while also providing ovicidal activity against spider mites, and its selective chemistry makes it well suited to Integrated Pest Management and resistance-management programs.
Features & Benefits
✓ Professional 43.2% bifenazate miticide for broad-spectrum spider mite control
✓ Provides rapid contact knockdown and long residual mite control when applied as directed
✓ Active primarily on motile mite stages with additional ovicidal activity against spider mites
✓ IRAC Group 20D chemistry provides a distinct mode of action for resistance-management rotations
✓ Compatible with IPM programs due to relatively low activity on many beneficial and predaceous mites and insects
✓ Labeled across major specialty crops including strawberries, grapes, almonds, walnuts, tree nuts, fruit crops, vegetables, and berries
✓ Generic equivalent to Vigilant 4 SC with the same bifenazate active ingredient concentration
Labeled Use Sites
Electicide SC is labeled for use on numerous bearing crops including avocado, caneberries, Christmas trees and conifer plantations, cotton, cucurbit vegetables, dried shelled beans, fruiting vegetables, grapes and other climbing vines, hops, mint, pome fruit, potatoes and other tuberous and corm vegetables, strawberries and other low-growing berries, stone fruit, tree nuts, tropical fruit, legumes, and additional labeled crops. Non-bearing fruit trees, berries, citrus, currants, dates, figs, and persimmons are also labeled. Greenhouse and shadehouse ornamental uses are included for ornamental bulbs, bedding plants, foliage and flowering plants, perennials, shrubs, and trees, as well as greenhouse tomatoes.
Target Pests
Electicide SC controls labeled mites including avocado red spider mite, Banks grass mite, brown almond mite, citrus red mite, clover mite, European red mite, McDaniel mite, Pacific spider mite, pecan leaf scorch mite, Persea mite, six-spotted mite, southern red mite, spruce spider mite, strawberry spider mite, two-spotted spider mite, and Willamette spider mite. Electicide is not effective against rust mites, broad mites, or flat mites.
Application Notes
Apply Electicide SC as soon as mite infestations are observed. Use the lowest labeled rate for light infestations and the higher labeled rate for heavy pressure or extended residual control. Most crop rates range from 12 to 24 fl oz per acre depending on crop and pest pressure. Thorough spray coverage of both upper and lower leaf surfaces is essential because Electicide is not systemic.
Preharvest intervals vary by crop. Strawberries have a 1-day PHI, almonds a 7-day PHI, and grapes and most tree nuts including walnuts, hazelnuts, pecans, and pistachios a 14-day PHI. A miticide with a different mode of action should be used between sequential Electicide applications where multiple applications are permitted. Maintain spray-mixture pH between 5.5 and 6.5 for best stability. Always read and follow the complete product label.
