Diquat Herbicide Landscape & Aquatic Herbicide
Diquat Herbicide is a fast-acting, non-selective contact herbicide designed for professional aquatic vegetation management, landscape maintenance, industrial weed control, and turf renovation. As the generic equivalent to Reward Landscape & Aquatic Herbicide, it contains the same 37.3% diquat dibromide active ingredient (2 pounds diquat cation per gallon) while providing exceptional value for controlling emerged aquatic and terrestrial weeds.
Diquat Herbicide rapidly penetrates green plant tissue to deliver visible burndown within hours of application. It provides excellent control of floating, submerged, and marginal aquatic weeds while also serving as an effective trim-and-edge herbicide around landscapes, golf courses, rights-of-way, industrial sites, ponds, canals, and drainage ditches. Its contact activity makes it an excellent choice whenever rapid vegetation control is required.
Features & Benefits
✓ Generic equivalent to Reward Landscape & Aquatic Herbicide with the same 37.3% diquat dibromide formulation
✓ Fast-acting contact herbicide delivers visible burndown within hours on actively growing vegetation
✓ Controls floating, submerged, and marginal aquatic weeds in ponds, lakes, canals, reservoirs, and drainage ditches
✓ Excellent for trim-and-edge applications around sidewalks, fence lines, ornamental beds, buildings, and hardscapes
✓ Ideal for industrial vegetation management, non-crop areas, turf renovation, and dormant bermudagrass and zoysiagrass applications
✓ Rainfast approximately 30 minutes after application under labeled conditions for dependable performance
✓ Compatible with labeled aquatic wetting agents, nonionic surfactants, and selected tank-mix partners for expanded vegetation management programs
Labeled Use Sites
Diquat Herbicide is labeled for use in ponds, lakes, reservoirs, marshes, bayous, canals, streams, drainage ditches, commercial greenhouses, nurseries, dormant bermudagrass and zoysiagrass, golf courses, landscape beds, residential and commercial landscapes, industrial sites, utility rights-of-way, railroads, roadsides, parking areas, public grounds, turf renovation projects, ornamental seed crops, and numerous other non-crop vegetation management sites where rapid contact weed control is desired.
Target Weeds
Diquat Herbicide controls or suppresses a broad spectrum of labeled aquatic and terrestrial weeds including water hyacinth, water lettuce, duckweed, salvinia, pennywort, frog's-bit, cattails, hydrilla, Eurasian watermilfoil, pondweeds, coontail, bladderwort, Brazilian elodea, elodea, naiad, annual bluegrass, little barley, henbit, buttercup, Carolina geranium, and numerous annual grasses and broadleaf weeds. It also provides suppression of labeled algae including Spirogyra and Pithophora when used according to the label.
Application Notes
Diquat Herbicide is a contact herbicide that requires complete spray coverage of actively growing green vegetation for optimum performance. Young, healthy weeds provide the best results. For terrestrial applications, the label recommends adding a nonionic surfactant containing at least 75% surface active ingredients. Aquatic applications require an approved aquatic wetting agent according to label directions.
When treating aquatic vegetation, avoid treating more than one-third to one-half of heavily infested water bodies at one time to reduce the risk of oxygen depletion from decomposing vegetation. For submerged aquatic weeds, subsurface applications may provide improved control where vegetation reaches the water surface or where water depth exceeds two feet. Always follow all water-use restrictions, application rates, and state-specific aquatic regulations listed on the EPA-approved product label.
