Curator Fungicide is a professional dual-active turf fungicide containing propamocarb hydrochloride and mefenoxam for prevention and control of Pythium and other oomycete diseases. By combining FRAC Group 28 and Group 4 chemistry, Curator provides two complementary modes of action for management of Pythium blight, root rot, damping-off, downy mildew, and related turf disease problems.

Both active ingredients provide locally systemic, translaminar, and xylem-systemic movement, helping protect turf through foliar and root uptake. Curator provides protective, curative, eradicative, and antisporulant activity and is designed for professional programs on golf courses, lawns, athletic fields, parks, recreational turf, commercial and institutional landscapes, and sod farms where labeled.

Labeled Use Sites

Curator is labeled for established and overseeded turfgrass on golf courses; lawns; landscape areas around residential, institutional, public, commercial, and industrial buildings; parks; recreational areas; athletic fields; and sod farms. The label supports use across cool- and warm-season turf, with particular relevance to creeping bentgrass, annual bluegrass, perennial ryegrass, St. Augustinegrass, and bermudagrass. Curator is not labeled for sod farms in Arizona.

Target Diseases

Curator controls Pythium blight, Pythium root rot, and Pythium damping-off in established and overseeded turfgrass. It also controls downy mildew in St. Augustinegrass and yellow tuft, a downy mildew disease of bluegrass. Curator is specifically intended for oomycete disease management and does not provide broad-spectrum control of diseases such as brown patch, dollar spot, or leaf spot; use an appropriately labeled broad-spectrum partner if those diseases are present.

Application Notes

Apply Curator preventively at 3 to 6 fl oz per 1,000 sq ft. For established turf, apply when conditions favor disease development, particularly during periods of high heat and humidity. During prolonged favorable conditions, use a 7- to 14-day application schedule. For overseeded turf, apply after seed germination to help prevent Pythium damping-off.

Apply as a foliar treatment in approximately 1 to 5 gallons of water per 1,000 sq ft. For best efficacy with lower-volume applications, follow with approximately 1/8 to 1/4 inch of irrigation or rainfall. Foliar applications are rainfast after approximately 2 hours. Do not apply through an irrigation system and do not apply by air.
