Sharda USA Brahma 44 Herbicide is a professional soil-active herbicide containing 40% bromacil and 40% diuron for selective weed control in labeled citrus and long-lasting vegetation management in non-crop areas. Its dual Group 5 + Group 7 photosystem II inhibitor chemistry controls a broad spectrum of annual grasses and broadleaf weeds and, at higher labeled rates, controls or suppresses difficult perennial weeds including Bermudagrass, Johnsongrass, quackgrass, nutsedge, and other persistent vegetation.

A generic alternative to Krovar I DF and Krovar IVM with the same active ingredients and concentrations, Brahma 44 provides dependable residual weed management for citrus groves, rights-of-way, industrial sites, railroads, utility areas, fence rows, fuel-storage areas, and other labeled non-crop sites. Moisture activates the herbicide and carries the active ingredients into the weed root zone, making properly timed rainfall or irrigation essential for optimum preemergence performance.

Labeled Use Sites

Brahma 44 is labeled for selective weed control in citrus and for vegetation management in uncultivated non-agricultural areas including airports, highway rights-of-way, railroad rights-of-way, utility rights-of-way, sewage-disposal areas, pipelines, tank farms, lumberyards, industrial sites, fence rows, barrier strips, fuel-storage areas, farmyards, and other labeled non-crop locations.

Special labeled programs also permit use beneath asphalt and concrete pavement in certain industrial applications. Do not use Brahma 44 in recreational areas, around homes, on lawns, walks, residential driveways, tennis courts, golf-cart paths, or where roots of desirable trees and plants extend into the treatment zone. Non-agricultural uses are not registered for sale or use in California.

Target Weeds

Annual Weeds: barnyardgrass, downy brome or cheatgrass, common chickweed, mouseear chickweed, annual clovers, filaree, flaxleaf or hairy fleabane, foxtails, goatweed, groundsel, horseweed or marestail, Johnsongrass, junglerice, kochia, lambsquarters, wild lettuce, wild mustard, Natal grass or redtop, annual nightshade, pigweed, pineappleweed, common puncturevine, common purslane, Florida pusley, common ragweed, sandbur or sandspur, shepherd's purse, annual sowthistle, Spanish needles, and Russian thistle.

Additional Non-Crop Broadleaf Weeds: fiddleneck, diffuse knapweed, common sunflower, wild carrot, common dandelion, curly dock, spotted knapweed, prostrate knotweed, wild parsnip, plantain, spurge, milk thistle, common yarrow, common cinquefoil, common milkweed, and goldenrod.

Additional Non-Crop Grasses: foxtail barley, brome species, cheat, prairie cupgrass, wild oat, Italian ryegrass, quackgrass, intermediate wheatgrass, bahiagrass, crabgrass, goosegrass, rye, Vaseygrass, bluegrass, fescue, sand dropseed, and saltgrass.

Difficult Perennial Weeds: Bermudagrass, balsam apple vine seedlings, drymary, guineagrass, milkweed vine or strangler vine, quackgrass, seedling vines, bouncing-bet, dogbane, Johnsongrass, and nutsedge. High labeled rates and repeat applications may be necessary for acceptable perennial control.

Application Notes

Mix Brahma 44 thoroughly in water and apply with properly calibrated spray equipment. A minimum spray volume of 10 gallons per acre is required for standard fixed-boom applications, and continuous agitation is necessary to keep the dry-flowable formulation uniformly suspended. Best preemergence performance occurs when Brahma 44 is applied to bare or moist soil before weed emergence and activated by rainfall or sprinkler irrigation.

Moisture should reach the treated soil within approximately two weeks after application. Weed-control symptoms can develop slowly until sufficient moisture moves the herbicide into the weed root zone. Non-crop application rates generally range from 6 to 16 lb per acre for annual broadleaf and grassy weeds, while difficult perennial and extended bareground programs may require higher labeled rates up to 30 lb per acre depending on the target weed and use site. Always follow the site-specific rate table and annual maximums.
