Bounce S Herbicide

Bounce S Herbicide is a professional selective pre- and post-emergence herbicide containing 33.33% sulfentrazone and 6.67% imazethapyr for control or suppression of sedges, broadleaf weeds, and annual grasses in established turf. Bounce S is a generic equivalent to Dismiss South Herbicide and is labeled for residential, commercial and institutional lawns, athletic fields, commercial sod farms, golf course fairways and roughs, and other professional turf sites.

Bounce S combines HRAC Group 14 PPO-inhibiting chemistry with HRAC Group 2 ALS-inhibiting chemistry and is absorbed through both weed roots and shoots. Its combination of foliar and soil activity makes it especially useful for purple nutsedge, yellow nutsedge, green kyllinga, goosegrass, broadleaf weeds, and other difficult turf weeds while also providing pre-emergence activity against labeled annual weeds.

Features & Benefits

Dual-active herbicide combines sulfentrazone and imazethapyr for broad-spectrum turf weed control

Provides both pre-emergence and post-emergence activity against labeled sedges, broadleaf weeds, and annual grasses

Controls or suppresses purple nutsedge, yellow nutsedge, green kyllinga, false green kyllinga, and other labeled sedges

Combines HRAC Groups 14 and 2 for two complementary herbicidal modes of action

Absorbed through weed roots and shoots for both foliar and soil-active weed management

Labeled for professional turf sites including lawns, athletic fields, sod farms, golf course fairways, and roughs

Generic equivalent to Dismiss South Herbicide with the same sulfentrazone and imazethapyr active ingredient percentages

Labeled Use Sites

Bounce S is labeled for established turf in residential, commercial, and institutional lawns, athletic fields, commercial sod farms, golf course fairways, and golf course roughs. The label lists tolerant warm-season turfgrasses including bahiagrass, bermudagrass and hybrids, buffalograss, carpetgrass, centipedegrass, kikuyugrass, and zoysiagrass, as well as Kentucky bluegrass, rough bluegrass, fine fescue, tall fescue, and perennial ryegrass at the applicable lower cool-season rates. Do not apply to golf course putting greens or tees. The product is not for use on St. Augustinegrass or seashore paspalum. Bounce S is also labeled for railroad rights-of-way, highways, roadsides, pipeline and utility rights-of-way, industrial areas, fence rows, and other non-crop sites.

Target Weeds

Bounce S controls or suppresses labeled purple nutsedge, yellow nutsedge, green kyllinga, false green kyllinga, globe sedge, cylindric sedge, Surinam sedge, Texas sedge, crabgrass, goosegrass, annual bluegrass, barnyardgrass, foxtails, dandelion, dollarweed, clover, chickweed, ground ivy, henbit, spurge, plantain, wild onion, wild garlic, woodsorrel, and numerous other labeled broadleaf and grassy weeds. Dallisgrass and tropical signalgrass are labeled for suppression. Specific control or suppression varies by timing, turf species, rate, and application method.

Application Notes

For established turf, apply 4.156 to 14.961 fl oz per acre, equivalent to 0.096 to 0.344 fl oz per 1,000 sq ft, without exceeding the turfgrass-specific maximum rate. Cool-season turfgrasses are generally treated at 4.156 to 9.87 fl oz per acre, while labeled warm-season turfgrasses may be treated at 9.87 to 14.961 fl oz per acre. For optimum purple nutsedge control, split applications may be required. Warm-season split programs include 9.87 fl oz per acre followed by 5.091 fl oz per acre 35 days later, or 7.481 fl oz per acre followed by 7.481 fl oz per acre 35 days later.

For pre-emergence control, Bounce S is most effective when activated by up to 0.5 inch of rainfall or irrigation within 7 days after application and before weed germination. Do not apply to stressed turf, putting greens, tees, St. Augustinegrass, or seashore paspalum. Do not apply with surfactants unless previous experience has demonstrated the combination to be physically compatible and non-injurious to the turfgrass being treated. Sod should be established before treatment, and Bounce S must not be applied within 3 months of sod harvest. Always read and follow the complete product label.
