Maxtima Fungicide is a professional broad-spectrum turf fungicide containing 34.93% mefentrifluconazole for control of difficult diseases in nonresidential turfgrass. Powered by Revysol® active ingredient chemistry, Maxtima provides FRAC Group 3 DMI activity for important diseases including anthracnose, dollar spot, brown ring patch, fairy ring, summer patch, spring dead spot, take-all patch, and root rot of warm-season turfgrasses.

Maxtima inhibits the demethylation step of sterol biosynthesis, disrupting fungal cell-membrane development. It is designed for preventive disease-management programs and should be rotated with effective non-Group 3 fungicides to help manage resistance. Its low use rates and broad disease spectrum make it a strong fit for golf courses, cemeteries, commercial and industrial turf, and sod farms.

Labeled Use Sites

Maxtima is labeled for nonresidential turfgrass including golf courses with greens, tees, fairways, roughs, and naturalized areas; cemeteries; commercial and industrial sites; and sod farms. It is not labeled for residential turfgrass, athletic fields, or greenhouse-grown turf.

Target Diseases

Maxtima controls labeled anthracnose, brown ring patch or Waitea patch, dollar spot, fairy ring, root rot of warm-season turfgrasses formerly known as bermudagrass decline, take-all patch, spring dead spot, and summer patch.

Application Notes

Apply Maxtima preventively before disease onset or during the early stages of disease development. Rates vary by disease from 0.2 to 0.8 fl oz per 1,000 sq ft, equivalent to approximately 8.6 to 35 fl oz per acre. Use shorter intervals and higher labeled rates when disease pressure is elevated.

Dollar spot may be treated at 0.2 to 0.4 fl oz per 1,000 sq ft on a 14- to 28-day interval. Anthracnose is treated at 0.4 to 0.6 fl oz per 1,000 sq ft on a 14-day interval. Fairy ring, root rot of warm-season turfgrass, and take-all patch are treated at 0.8 fl oz per 1,000 sq ft on a 28-day interval, while summer patch is treated at 0.8 fl oz per 1,000 sq ft on a 21- to 28-day interval.

Do not make more than two sequential Maxtima applications before rotating to a labeled non-Group 3 fungicide. Do not exceed 35 fl oz per acre per application or 70 fl oz per acre per year. Apply in 1 to 4 gal of water per 1,000 sq ft unless higher spray volumes are specified. Always read and follow the complete product label.
