Please read specific information about Aprehend below before purchasing.
Aprehend is a novel, ready-to-use biological mycoinsecticide designed for long-lasting control and prevention of bed bugs. Powered by Beauveria bassiana, a naturally occurring fungal spore, Aprehend is formulated in a proprietary oil-based carrier and applied as a barrier spray in areas where bed bugs travel.
When bed bugs cross the treated barrier, fungal spores adhere to their legs and bodies and are carried back to their harborages (cracks and crevices). There, spores are spread throughout the population via direct contact, infecting other bed bugs. Infected bed bugs die within 4–10 days, allowing Aprehend to control bed bugs both inside and outside their hiding places with a single application.
Aprehend leaves behind a non-repellent, low-odor residual that remains effective for up to 3 months, making it ideal for elimination of active infestations as well as preventive quarterly treatments. It is widely used in homes, apartments, hotels, dormitories, shelters, and public spaces to prevent the establishment of bed bug populations.
Application of Aprehend requires specific spray equipment, it cannot be applied with standard ‘high volume’ sprayers. It is recommended that all pest control operators who purchase Aprehend take an online training course to ensure that they are familiar with the use of fungal biopesticides, and the application strategy required for successful bed bug control.
