As a late-stage gibberellin biosynthesis inhibitor, Anuew reduces mowing frequency and clipping production while promoting a compact, uniform turf canopy on both cool- and warm-season turfgrass.

Unlike early-stage growth regulators, Anuew acts late in the gibberellin pathway and supports redistribution of carbohydrates toward the root system. Labeled Use Sites

Anuew is labeled for golf-course greens, tees, fairways, and roughs; residential and commercial lawns; sports fields; sod farms; cemeteries; municipal turf; parks; and other managed turf areas. Labeled warm-season grasses include common and hybrid bermudagrass, zoysiagrass, St. Augustinegrass, paspalum, and kikuyugrass. Cool-season turf includes bentgrass, annual and perennial Poa annua, Kentucky bluegrass, perennial ryegrass, tall fescue, and fine fescue.

Turfgrass Uses & Performance

Anuew is absorbed through turfgrass foliage and inhibits late-stage gibberellin biosynthesis, reducing cell elongation and slowing vertical growth. Clipping reduction can begin within approximately 2 to 5 days depending on turf species. Treated turf commonly develops a more compact growth habit with improved color and visual quality. Nufarm also supports Anuew for more even regulation of Poa annua in mixed stands and for improving turf appearance where bermudagrass mutations create uneven growth.

Anuew may also be used in bermudagrass overseeding programs. A labeled 1 to 2 oz per acre application 3 to 5 days before overseeding can suppress bermudagrass growth without adversely affecting germination and growth of the overseeded turf when used according to label directions.

Application Notes

Apply Anuew when turf is green, healthy, and actively growing. Reapplication should be based on local Growing Degree Day accumulation rather than a fixed calendar schedule. Research cited by Nufarm supports approximately 280 to 350 GDD for common golf applications, with greens and tees generally managed toward the shorter portion of that range.

Typical labeled rates vary by turf species and management area. Warm-season fairways and roughs use approximately 12 to 24 oz per acre, while bermudagrass greens and tees use approximately 8 to 16 oz per acre. Cool-season fairways and roughs generally range from 4 to 16 oz per acre depending on species, while bentgrass and Poa greens and tees may use approximately 2 to 8 oz per acre. Apply in sufficient water for complete foliar coverage; 1 to 2 gallons of water per 1,000 sq ft is recommended for best results. Do not irrigate for 4 hours following application.
