Advion Fire Ant Bait
Advion Fire Ant Bait is a professional ready-to-use granular ant bait containing 0.045% indoxacarb for rapid colony control of imported fire ants and other labeled ant species. Its highly attractive bait matrix is carried back into the colony by foraging ants and shared throughout the nest, including with the queen, providing an effective colony-level approach to ant management.
Syngenta-supported research shows Advion Fire Ant Bait can control foraging workers within 12 to 48 hours and achieve total fire ant colony control within 72 hours under tested conditions. The bait requires no watering-in and is designed for lawns, golf courses, recreational turf, parks, non-crop areas, companion-animal pastures, nurseries, and sod farms.

Labeled Use Sites
Advion Fire Ant Bait is labeled for home lawns, commercial properties, landscaped areas, golf courses, athletic fields, recreational turf, parks, picnic areas, cemeteries, airports, roadsides, highway and utility rights-of-way, campgrounds, industrial sites, schools, hospitals, colleges, office properties, museums, libraries, and other institutional or non-crop areas. It may also be used in fenced pastures grazed only by companion animals, commercial ornamental nurseries, non-bearing fruit and nut tree production, and turfgrass sod farms according to label directions.
Target Pests
Advion Fire Ant Bait controls imported fire ants, including Solenopsis species, as well as bigheaded ants, pavement ants, and turfgrass ants where labeled. Bigheaded, pavement, and turfgrass ant uses are not approved in California.
Application Notes
For broadcast treatment, apply 1.5 lb of Advion Fire Ant Bait per acre using properly calibrated granular application equipment. Apply at the first sign of ant activity and when ants are actively foraging; performance is generally best when soil-surface temperatures are above 60°F. Up to four broadcast applications may be made per year, generally at 12- to 16-week intervals.
For individual mound treatment, uniformly distribute 4 level tablespoons, approximately 1/2 oz, in a 3- to 4-foot area around the mound. Do not disturb the mound and do not place bait directly on top of it. Apply only to dry areas. Rainfall or irrigation within 2 to 3 hours after application may reduce effectiveness and may require retreatment after 7 days.
