Adorn Fungicide is a professional ornamental fungicide containing 39.5% fluopicolide for targeted control of Pythium, Phytophthora, and downy mildew. Its unique FRAC Group 43 mode of action makes Adorn a valuable rotational tool for greenhouse, nursery, and landscape disease-management programs where oomycete pathogens are a recurring concern.

Adorn provides protective, curative, eradicative, and antisporulant activity with local systemic, translaminar, and xylem movement. It may be applied as a foliar spray or root-zone drench and is especially useful for prevention of water mold, root rot, stem rot, crown rot, damping-off, and downy mildew in professionally managed ornamental crops.

Labeled Use Sites

Adorn is labeled for container-, bench-, and bed-grown ornamentals in greenhouses, lathhouses, shadehouses, outdoor nurseries, and outdoor landscapes. Labeled ornamental groups include bedding plants, Christmas trees, conifers, flowering plants, foliage plants, groundcovers, non-bearing fruit and nut trees, ornamental trees, shrubs, and vines. Adorn is also labeled for greenhouse basil for downy mildew control. The ornamental label specifically states that Adorn is not for use on ornamental plants in Hawaii.

Target Diseases

Adorn controls labeled downy mildew, Phytophthora, Pythium blight, and Pythium damping-off in ornamental production. It is used to prevent oomycete-associated water mold, root rot, stem rot, crown rot, and damping-off problems. Specific labeled pathogens include multiple Phytophthora and Pythium species as well as downy mildew organisms in genera including Bremia, Hyaloperonospora, Peronospora, Plasmopara, and Pseudoperonospora.

Application Notes

For ornamental applications, use 1 to 4 fl oz of Adorn per 100 gallons of water. Foliar applications use 2 to 4 fl oz per 100 gallons and should thoroughly cover plant surfaces to the point of runoff. Drench applications use 1 to 4 fl oz per 100 gallons and should apply enough solution to thoroughly wet the root zone. Apply before disease development whenever possible and reapply after 14 to 28 days where necessary.

For resistance management, Adorn must be tank mixed with another labeled fungicide that is effective against the target disease and has a different mode of action. Do not apply Adorn sequentially, and do not make more than two ornamental applications per year. The minimum retreatment interval is 14 days. Foliar sprays are rainfast approximately 2 hours after application.
