Account Insecticide is a powerful, truly systemic insecticide and miticide containing spirotetramat (IRAC Group 23) that delivers long-lasting control of sucking insects and plant-feeding mites in nursery, greenhouse, and interiorscape environments. As a generic equivalent to Kontos Insecticide, Account moves both upward and downward within plants through xylem and phloem, protecting new growth and untreated tissue.
Ideal for integrated pest management (IPM) programs, Account provides up to 30 days of residual control and is highly effective against difficult pests such as aphids, whiteflies, mealybugs, scales, and mites. Its unique mode of action disrupts lipid biosynthesis, stopping insect development, feeding, and reproduction. Flexible application methods—including foliar sprays and drenches—make it a versatile solution for ornamentals, vegetable transplants, and non-bearing fruit and nut trees.
- Dual systemic movement (xylem + phloem) for complete plant protection
- Controls both insects and mites with one application
- Up to 30 days of residual control reduces reapplications
- Effective on hard-to-control pests like mealybugs, scales, and spider mites
- Ideal for IPM programs with low impact on beneficial insects
- Flexible application methods: foliar spray or soil drench
- Excellent control of immature thrips and suppression of adults
- Translaminar activity improves coverage and penetration
- Labeled for use before, during, and after bloom
- Compatible with spreaders for improved performance
