Adjuvants, Surfactants & Spray Additives

Spray adjuvants can improve wetting, spreading, sticking, penetration, water quality, deposition, drift management, antifoaming, or application visibility when the pesticide label permits or requires them. Each type solves a different application problem.

Choosing the Right Product

Start with the pesticide label and carrier-water conditions. Compare nonionic surfactants, oils, water conditioners, drift-control agents, compatibility aids, antifoams, deposition aids, and marking dyes by purpose, concentration, and approved use site.

Use and Application Considerations

Use the exact rate and mixing order, and conduct a jar test when compatibility is uncertain or the label directs it. Do not add an adjuvant simply because one worked in another mixture. Follow label directions for crop or turf safety, aquatic use, cleanup, storage, and protective equipment.
