SedgeHammer Herbicide delivers selective, systemic control of yellow and purple nutsedge in both warm- and cool-season turfgrass. Designed for commercial and residential turf applications, SedgeHammer moves through the plant to control nutsedge above and below ground, targeting shoots, rhizomes, tubers, and nutlets for longer-lasting results.
This post-emergent nutsedge herbicide is trusted for use on lawns, golf courses, sod farms, commercial landscapes, and landscaped areas with established woody ornamentals. It provides visible yellowing and browning in about 10 to 14 days, with full control often following within a few more weeks when applied to young, actively growing nutsedge.
SedgeHammer is known for excellent turf safety, low use rates, and season-long efficacy under normal pressure. It also suppresses kyllinga and horsetail, and can be tank mixed with certain non-selective, broad-spectrum, or post-crabgrass herbicides for broader weed control programs. Once the spray has dried, people and pets may re-enter the treated area.
SedgeHammer is very similar to SedgeHammer +, except that it does not contain a surfactant. We highly recommend using Vortex Xtra with SedgeHammer to increase its effectiveness on nutsedge.
